A state-of-the-art automated feed mill with 10 tons per hour production capacity and situated at Katega in the Mukono district. With this capacity, the plant is able to produce up to 150 tons of feed per day, working two 8-hour shifts. The plant produces both pelleted and mash feeds that undergo stringent quality control processes, from the reception of raw materials, storage, processing, bagging through to the dispatch of the final feed.
The automation of the plant when weighing, grinding, mixing, pelleting, cooling and bagging completely eliminates any cross-contamination and human error. Raw materials are externally sourced and these include maize, soya bean meal (solvent extracted), sunflower meal, wheat bran, limestone grits and fines, salt, vitamin premixes and amino acids. Raw materials such as soybeans are processed in-house to produce low-fat soya cake (expelled) and full-fat soya cake (extruded).
